A few common faults in plate and frame filter presses

A plate and frame filter press is a commonly used sludge treatment equipment. Different manufacturers produce plate and frame filter presses with different degrees of automation and different sludge treatment efficiencies. However, the slurry utilisation rate of a plate and frame filter press can be greatly reduced if abnormal conditions or obvious faults occur during operation. In the course of use, we often encounter three problems.

1. Slow action of the filter plate of the plate and frame filter press:If the filter plate of the plate and frame filter press is slow in the process of unloading mud, check whether there are oil stains and stains on the guide rod. If there are too many stains, clean them in time and apply grease to ensure lubrication. Do not apply thin oil to avoid falling to the ground and causing a threat to the personal safety of the filter press operator and maintenance personnel.

2. There may be three reasons for water seepage between the plate and frame: lower water pressure, wrinkled filter cloth, holes in the filter cloth, and blocks on the sealing surface. At this time, check one by one, refuel the pressure, replace the filter cloth, and remove the sealing surface block can solve the problem.

3. The plate and frame filter press cannot form sludge cake or mud cake unevenly after treatment. Low slurry feed or blockage and deformation of the filter plate of the filter press can lead to unformed and uneven filter cake. Traditional plate and frame filter presses use cylindrical filter plates, which are prone to such problems after a long period of use. The solution to this problem is to increase the sludge feed, clean or replace the filter cloth, clean the drainage holes, increase the pressure of the sludge feed pump, start at low pressure and start continuously. As the filter plate is high strength alloy steel, the pressure of the ultra-high pressure sludge filter press can reach 10mpa and there is generally no mud cake that is not shaped or uneven.
